Will is an activist and advocate for those living with and affected by HIV. He is a trained Peer Mentor, anti-stigma campaigner and chairs the Lothian HIV Patient Forum making sure the voices of the diverse communities of service users are heard and contribute to service provision within the Lothian region. Their many successes include the reinvigoration of the Peer Support network, anti-stigma strategy, national involvement standards, work on cross party groups and support of the Fast Track Cities initiative.
He works closely with NHS Lothian, Public Health Lothian and third sector organisations and his background as an ICU/Staff Nurse gives him a “cross borders” perspective which as a forum member and service user make his contribution unique.
He has campaigned for a stigma free and equitable access to services for the last 5 years through grass roots work and continues to seek change at the regional and national level.
